Top 5 New Restaurants & Bars

In our previous articles we have already mentioned both traditional and modern Belgrade  restaurants and bars  that are worth a visit. Today we move further and recommend to our clients and readers some new venues we prefer. So, lets start with Ambar in Beton Halla on the riverfront.

Ambar is a newly opened restaurant in the Savamala neighborhood and stands on the bank of the Sava river. It’s a stylish restaurant on two levels enriched with a several artistic details. Balkan cuisine is included in the offer with more than 35 types of rakija (well known Serbian brandy), Balkan wine and cocktails. Our recommendation is to start with small plates of traditional Serbian specialties known as kajmak, palenta, salads, homemade kulen, goat cheese and ajvar and move to delicious meat selection.

Our second recommendation is Mentalitet (Eng. Mentality) restaurant in 70 Kralja Petra district, in the neighborhood of Dorcol. Renovated and newly opened in the space where kafana Suvobor used to stand, Mentalitet offers traditional specialties packed in a modern style. It’s definitely one of the finest restaurants in Belgrade and a place where visitors can relax in its unpretentious atmosphere and interior design. When it comes to food we prefer “Mentalitet trio” as a starter and glazed pork ribs and Serbian style kebabs as a main course.

If you are exploring a famous creative district of Belgrade Savamala and you feel hungry drop by Deli 57.  It’s a cool looking place offering several types of beer and wine, but also some food. You can start your dining experience with “Brka” Kabinet craft beer or a glass of wine from Zvonko Bogdan Serbian-based winery and pasta with pepperoni and meat balls and finish with original American pancakes.  Deli 57 tends to promote a mixture of wine & dine traditions in a perfect location where visitors can feel the true spirit of Belgrade.

After your dining experience feel free to drop by a coffee shop called Koffein in Cara Lazara St. It’s a nice looking and pet friendly place that includes several types of the finest coffee in its offer. My favorite is coffee latte  with soya milk that costs around 200 dinars.

For the end of this article we would point out one cool bar named Sh in the Dorćol area. It’s a small but cozy bar in the basement of the building, but also has a small yard on the street. Sh bar is a popular hung out of locals. Place for drinking coffee and beer and for listening to electronic music.
