City Break Week Guide: What’s On In The City?

Hello dear visitors. This week we have prepared for you ‘’City Break Apartments week guide’’. So, let’s see what’s going on during this week and next weeks.

MANIFESTATION:

Days of modern Swedish film – 7-10. June 2016. – Parobrod cinema

During manifestation Days of a modern Swedish film, supported by the Swedish Embassy in Belgrade and Swedish Institute, few Swedish movies will be shown, mostly drama. Movies will be also shown in other cities of Serbia.

Projections will be held in two terms, premiera at 19h and reprise at 17h on the next day.

Entrance: Tickets for movie projections are free, but the number is limited. Tickets are available for free from 6th June at the box office of Parobrod cinema.

FESTIVAL:

Mikser festival – 8-12. June 2016, Mikser house

The eighth Mikser Festival, the largest regional festival of creativity and innovation, will be held for the fifth time in Savamala at more than 40 locations with the participation of 1,000 creators under the slogan “Sensitive Society”.

Topics of this year’s festival  will be topics of gender equality and female creativity, social equality, open dialogue, multiculturalism and more efficient conflict resolution. The focus of this year’s Mikser Festival is gender equality, as well as the refugee crisis and possible directions for integration into European society.

The programme will be divided into several segments, including Mikser Talks, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, debates, performances, music events, children and youth programmes, Mikser Cinema.

FESTIVAL:

Kalemegdan summer festival – 10-12 June 2016, Kalemegdan fortress

The Kalemegdan summer festival will be held at one of the most beautiful locations in Belgrade – Kalemegdan fortress, at the courtyards of the basketball team ‘’Partizan’’ under the name ‘’Topljenje’’ (Melting). The festival will last for 3 days and music events will be held on 2 stages.

Except domestic, on this year festival, performers will be famous foreign music artists as Booka Shade and Sam Paganini, and daily parties will be organised too.

Entrance: First 1 000 tickets will cost 900 RSD for 3 days of the festival. One-day tickets are available at the DD tickets and Eventim box office.

CONCERT:

Safe planet – Hornsman Coyote & Soulcraft – 10. June 2016, Dom omladine

One of the best reggae bands from this region, Hornsman Coyote & Soulcraft, will open the new European tour with the promotion of their new album in Belgrade.

New album was published on 21st March 2016. and has already drawn the attention of world media specialized for this type of music. Singles from this album are regular on the playlists of radio stations in Germany, France, Canada, Austria and USA.

Entrance: Tickets will be available on the day of the concert at the entrance to the club at the price of 600 dinars.

FESTIVAL:

Beer garden (opening) – 10. June 2016. (17h), Ada Ciganlija

The start of bath season at Ada Ciganlija will be open with a big free concert of Kiki and Piloti. This concert will also be the opening of the new season of two months festival Beer Garden.

After the last year’s successful event, organizers have prepared more good beer, music and movies for this season.

CONCERT:

Exit at Dev9t  – Die Antwoord – 11. June 2016, old Ciglana

Controversial rap-rave South African band, coming to Belgrade for the first time. The concert will be held within art colony Dev9t as a warming for Exit festival.

Die Antwoord are at the peak of their career, well known for its provocative, witty and morbid lyrics that are sending many messages. In Belgrade, they will perform in old Ciglana, the place that reminds of their impressive videos.

Entrance: Tickets are on sale through Eventim and Gigs Tix network, also in new-opened Zla Shtek Smart & Grow Shop at the price of 2 490 dinars.

CONCERT:

Prljavo Kazaliste – 12. June 2016, Stadium Tasmajdan

One of the most popular bands from the region of ex-Yugoslavia will hold their solo concert for memory. This event will also be an opening of concert season at the most beautiful concert location.

After the break longer than 10 years, stadium Tasmajdan is back again to the scene of music events. People of Belgrade can expect rich music season this summer.

Entrance: Tickets are available through the Eventim network at the price of 1 190 up to 3 490 dinars, depending on the type of the ticket.

CONCERT:

An Evening With Lajkó Félix – 12. June 2016. (21:00h), Barutana

One of the most popular ethno and world music Balkan musicians, Lajko Feliks, will perform in trio formation together with Brasnjo Antal and Szabo Csoban Gerg.

‘’Paganini from Vojvodina’’ or ‘’Devil’s violin player’’ are just some of the nicknames of the famous violin player who said that he doesn’t make a difference between music styles and plays everything. He performed with many famous musicians and  won the heart of the audience across the world with his recognizable music.

Entrance: Tickets are available at the Eventim and Gigs Tix box office at the price of 800 dinars for parter and 1 200 dinars for VIP.

PERFORMANCE:

Čujem bubanj (I hear the drum) – 12. June 2016. (8:30h), Culture center Rex

Performance ‘’Čujem bubanj’’ (I hear the drum) is a presentation of work – final performance of the Small Academy of physical, expressive and process theatre.

This final performance, with elements of physical, expressive and process theatre, was created as a result of work on practical module Small Academy.

Entrance: Tickets are available at the price of 200 dinars as a donation for space.

CONCERT:

DEV9T – Juan Atkins and Belgrade Symphony Orchestra with conductor Emin Dzijan, 14. Jun 2016, old Ciglana

Organizers of the DEV9T festival have decided to surprise Belgrade audience with the unusual concert, connecting techno mage, DJ and producer from Detroit Juan Atkins and Belgrade Symphony Orchestra. The conductor Emin Dzijanj, the man who has already connected sounds of electronic music and symphony orchestra will merge this two different music genres.

Macedonian conductor Emin, has been exploring for some time the synergy of electronic and classical music. The first such project was performed in Ohrid, and then in Europe, America and Australia.

Entrance: Ticket price is 800 dinars, while on the day of the concert the price will be 1 000 dinars. Tickets can be bought at the Gigs Tix box office and Eventim online network and in newly opened Novi Zla Shtek Smart & Grow Shop.
